We're just beginning our research on the ancient breed called the "Knabstrupper" or "Knabstrup." Please go to the following link to read more about this magnificent spotted horse: Knabstrupper Info . Also, if you are interested in the Knabstrupper, please let us know. We're trying to determine the level of interest in the United States.
Here is a link to the AKA: American Knabstrupper Association
We are interested in preserving the quality of the Knabstrupper in the United States and promoting the registry for horses of both baroque and sport horse style with only the best confirmation, ability, and character.
I am finding that there are a lot of different philosophies about the future of the Knab. I've been speaking with the AKA and I hope to be of great support to this association. I'm also speaking with people in the UK, Scotland, Austria, Germany, and (of course) Denmark. I'm finding that there are several schools of thought. I've had horses offered to me and some well meaning advice to be careful. I am going to offer up some links and some photos that I've found interesting. However, I don't know much about these people or this breed yet. Everyone has been helpful. So, don't take my links and my info to be anything except a portal for the beginning Knab enthusiast to begin doing their own research. I'm finding there are a lot of different registries and that everyone seems to have an opinion. My goal is to see that the original Knab does not disappear. Yet, I want to see the progression of the breed maintain the original characteristics of color and character. The insides must not be sacrificed for the outside, and there must be some of the original breed, or we've only genetically created something of a muse.
